By remembering the Canadian Liver Foundation through a gift in your will, you are creating a legacy that will improve lives for generations to come.
Our Planned Giving program allows you to support our community in a way that best suits your financial situation while, at the same time, bringing you and your family tax benefits.
There are many ways to leave a legacy that will change lives. These include:
Charitable Bequests
A bequest is a very popular way to create a substantial impact. This is a gift left in your will to one or more of your favourite charities.
Life Insurance
A gift of life insurance, whether it be a new or existing policy, is a popular and affordable way of making a significant gift to a cause you care about. By paying premiums now, you will create a much larger impact in the future, while receiving tax benefits during your lifetime.
RRSPs/RRIFs
By naming the Canadian Liver Foundation the beneficiary of your RRSP or RRIF, a generous charitable gift can be made while reducing the tax burden on your Estate through your charitable tax receipt for the gift amount.
Charitable Remainder Trusts
A charitable remainder trust is a way of giving assets to a charity through a trust agreement. A charitable remainder trust can be established by contributing assets to a trust through which you can receive a lifetime income from the earnings on the assets. When the gift is made, you will receive a charitable tax receipt for the present value of the remainder interest, which you may carry forward for up to five years. When you pass, your named charitable beneficiaries will receive the remainder of the assets in the trust.
Individuals who would like to leave a gift to the Canadian Liver Foundation in their will should include the following information:
Canadian Liver Foundation Address: 101-3100 Steeles Ave E, Markham, Ontario, L3R 8T3
Charitable Registration Number: 10686 2949 RR0001
If you are thinking of leaving a gift in your will or supporting the Canadian Liver Foundation through any of the other above-mentioned gift vehicles, please speak to your loved ones, your lawyer, a tax specialist, and/or a financial planner to make sure this decision is right for you. We strongly recommend professional advice to ensure that your financial goals are considered and that your donation is tailored to your circumstances.
