This bite has a chewy, moist texture, some festive flavour, and is free from refined and processed sugars.","related_recipes":"","blocks":[{"acf_fc_layout":"text","text":"<h2>ingredients<\/h2>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>1 cup walnuts (or cashews)<\/li>\r\n \t<li>10-12 pitted dates<\/li>\r\n \t<li>1 cup old fashioned rolled oats (can be substituted for gluten-free)<\/li>\r\n \t<li>1 tablespoon blackstrap molasses (or unsulphured)<\/li>\r\n \t<li>2 tablespoons almond butter<\/li>\r\n \t<li>1 teaspoon ground ginger<\/li>\r\n \t<li>1 teaspoon vanilla extract<\/li>\r\n \t<li>1 teaspoon ground cinnamon<\/li>\r\n \t<li>1 teaspoon ground nutmeg<\/li>\r\n \t<li>pinch of sea salt<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<hr \/>\r\n\r\n<h2>directions<\/h2>\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li>Soak dates in boiling water for about five minutes, draining and setting aside.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Place the oats in a food processor and pulse\/blend for about one minute until the oats become a fine crumb-like texture.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Add the remainder of ingredients and mix in the food processor until fully blended and the mixture becomes like dough.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Once in a dough texture that is thick and still slightly sticky, roll the dough into round balls using a metal spoon or an ice cream scoop. This should make around 15-20 balls, depending on how big you make them.
