FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OTTAWA – With the Government of Canada’s announcement of a temporary GST holiday on some alcoholic beverages, snacks and other food items, the Canadian Liver Foundation (CLF) is urging Canadians to make liver-friendly choices this coming holiday season.
Be Aware of Your Liver Health
The liver is involved in processing everything you eat and drink and is a crucial part of your overall health. Consistent or over-indulgence of alcoholic and sugary foods during the holidays can put significant stress on your liver and create long-term health challenges. The CLF encourages Canadians to take simple steps to reduce these risks:
Mocktails: A Festive and Health-Conscious Trend
Mocktails are increasingly popular, offering a tasty and creative way to celebrate without alcohol. These non-alcoholic beverages are an excellent way to enjoy the holidays while prioritizing liver health.
“Mocktails are a wonderful way to enjoy the celebration without compromising your health,” says Jennifer Nebesky, CEO of the Canadian Liver Foundation. “They’re not only delicious, but they also set a positive example for children, showing that healthy choices can be fun and festive.”
